This is interesting it’s an incidence of drunk blackbirds. I had been unaware that birds could get drunk from fermenting berries but it appears that they can. 12 blackbirds in Cumbria were found dead with trauma injuries. A post mortem found that one of the birds had high levels of ethanol in its liver. It seems that all the dead birds had eaten berries from a nearby rowan tree which had fermented in the gut causing them to turn into alcohol. One of the birds which was found to be unsteady on its feet was treated at a local wildlife centre and later made a full recovery.

In another things that look like Jesus sighting, Jesus and the Virgin Mary have recently been pictured on the base of a log. The image was found when cutting pine wood in Utah. Once again I can’t really see it but will leave you to draw your own conclusions.

As we know from previous sightings, Jesus does tend to show up in unusual places. The most recent sighting is on a tree stump in Northern Ireland. Once again I leave you to draw your own conclusions.

If this picture is genuine it is quite unique in that it shows an eagle holding a knife. It is claimed that it was taken by a photographer who cutting up chunks of meat to attract birds of prey dropped his knife in the snow. He later noticed the eagle flying away with the knife. I can’t help thinking the picture has been Photo shopped but none the less it’s a nice image.

I see so many articles about things that look like Jesus, I am beginning to wonder whether this blog may need a new category to reflect this. The latest image of Jesus has been spotted on the back of a stingray. As you can see from the picture this uncanny resemblance was recently caught on camera on a South Carolina beach. Once again I leave you to draw your own conclusions until we come across the next thing that looks like Jesus.

A hermit crab at Legoland in Windsor has made himself a new home out of a Lego shell. The shell was made by Legoland staff out of multi-coloured bricks. The crab named Harry appears quite happy in his new shell and judging by the video of him moving around, doesn’t seem to mind that he looks a bit different to the other crabs. In fact Harry rejected more conventional shell homes in favour of the more brightly coloured alternative.

More than 300 people in Colchester are hoping they have broken the world record for the largest number of people in a piggyback race. The attempt at breaking the record was made last week in Lower Castle Park, Colchester. It aimed to break the previous world record which was set last November and included 296 people. The organisers are now waiting for official verification to see whether or not there were successful.

If you like dressing up your dog then you might be interested in these dinosaur costumes. Available in velociraptor, stegosaurus or triceratops they are on sale for £20 and are designed to turn your pooch into something much more scary or ridiculous depending on your views. I think my cats would look great in one of these but my chances of getting it on them are very slim.
